Project: Nickel Circuit Demolition

Category: Crane and Rigging
Client: Southern Ports
Duration: 8 weeks
Project Description: Crossview was sub-contacted by CareyMC, the lead contractor on the Demolition of the redundant Berth 2 Mineral Circuit, to prepare and remove the old conveyor. Due to the 16 metre elevation of the conveyor, a major component of this job was completed using Crossview’s 100 ton all-terrain Grove crane.
A Crossview team of 6 experienced riggers and dogmen worked together with CareyMC to ensure all Southern Ports compliance policies were strictly adhered to during project completion. With the demolition situated along-side an operational Sulphur conveyor and adjacent to a busy multi use berth, Risk Management was a high priority. Shipping continued as normal, so traffic control was also a major consideration.

Each crane lift was meticulously planned following strict safety measures, this included dual lifts with another local crane company. Experienced operators ensured these lifts were successfully completed as planned.
The 100 ton crane was also invaluable in the demolition of the berth 2 ship loader.
